| Who are we? It is a Chinese School that was founded in 1982 starting with 30 students.
The primary objective of the school is to teach the Mandarin language and
Chinese culture. The club encourages youth to participate in community service
and 4-H activities. Many of our parents volunteer to coordinate annual cultural
programs, parties, and other school related functions.
Grade Levels:
Kindergarten thru 6th Grade
Advanced 1 and 2 Classes

| Who can join?
The school currently has about 85 students members and encourages youths of
diverse ethnic backgrounds to become members. The staff consists of parents who
volunteer as administrators and teachers. Students may start at age 4 and
adults are welcome too!

| When are classes?
The school year lasts for 32 weeks from September to June of the following
year. Mandarin language classes are held Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM – 11:20
AM.

What about the cultural classes?
Chinese cultural classes are held immediately after the language classes from
11:30 AM - 12:20 PM. Come join us for Chinese arts & crafts, Chinese
music, chess, Chinese knotting, and folk dance. For adults, the club offers tai chi and flower arrangement classes.

Where is the school?
Classes are held at the Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Hunterdon
Hall
which is located off Route 28 in North Branch, NJ. Follow signs to Parking Lot

What types of community events?
Each year students and
parents are involved in many of the community events. For example, RVCC
International Festival, Bridgewater-Raritan HS China Night, Somerset County 4-H
Fair, etc. In addition, the school also participated in the Chinese New Year
celebration, the Summer Cultural Camp and Fun Fair sponsored by the Chinese
American Cultural Association.
